As our Engineering and Projects Manager, you will be is responsible for a diverse range of projects as well as all aspects of onsite engineering and the development and control of major projects including plant outages. With this, you will be accountable for Strategic and Business planning for the Engineering and Projects team with alignment to Maintenance, Operations, Estates, Business Support and Compliance.

Hybrid working could be undertaken in this role.

The Role

Working in this role, you will be accountable for the following roles and responsibilities on a daily basis:
Responsible for asset performance of the Gas Storage facility meeting safety, environmental, availability, reliability and efficiency requirements
Management of contracts in areas of Engineering, Mechanical, Technical Consultancy and Project
Implement the people strategy, undertake recruitment, selection, training, development and competency assessment activities to ensure a competent workforce for ongoing commercial operation - including leadership, performance and development of engineering and technical projects team
Management of major planned outages/shutdowns and project
To develop and maintain the Asset strategy, processes and improvement programme for the Gas Storage site with the goal of achieving and optimised risk-based approach to asset management and implementation of best practice

The Skills

As our next Engineering and Projects Manager, we’re looking for you to hold the following skills and attributes to complete this role:
Strong and experienced leadership
Previous experience on highly automated gas, oil or process plant systems in a technical or senior operational role
Previous managerial experience within an operational site environment
Extensive knowledge of the management of Technical Safety on major hazard sites
Knowledge and understanding of relevant health and safety legislation associated with operation of major hazard site
Experience of the development and implementation of engineering projects

We’re offering a competitive salary along with excellent benefits, with terms and conditions covered by the EDF Energy Personal Contract. The starting salary for this appointment will be dependent of your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications. You will receive 25 days annual holiday plus bank holidays, incremental and competency-based progression and a Company pension scheme.
