**SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITY**:

- Purchase high-quality raw materials and consumables at reasonable cost to support production requirements. This also includes ensuring that the most cost-effective sources are being used.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and cultivate relationships with potential new suppliers.
- Secure deliveries of services and products to all local sites in the region in accordance with signed contracts.
- Expedite deliveries where needed, be the first escalation point of contact for operational issues for sites (late deliveries, quality issues, inadequate performance etc.).
- Drive efficiency and actively seek to optimize the procurement processes.
- Manage supplier risk by proactively monitoring changes within the supplier base.
- Support with RFQs for purchase orders for the sites in the region with assigned suppliers.
- Matching orders/deliveries and processing supplier invoices on the system.
- Resolve issues with invoices, incorrect pricing, or other contractual discrepancies.
- Support global pigment procurement management team with project, contracts, and supplier implementations.
- Support site POs in compliance with existing contracts and commercial terms.
- Lead and manage local negotiations in alignment with global procurement management team.
- Negotiate with and select suppliers of operating supplies.
- Place supply orders, as required, and provide information on order status to users.
- Maintain approved supplier and risk mitigation lists.
- Resolve problems with customs brokers on documentation, release of shipments, refunds, claims, remissions, and amendments related to the site.
- Maintain inventory records for new materials through timely processing of receipts.
- Organize and lead weekly MRP meetings and actions accordingly.
- Report monthly or as needed on significant changes in cost and availability of raw materials.
- Proactively search for cost saving alternatives for raw materials and supplies.
- Maintain approved import tracker, supplier records and purchasing book.
- Attend and produce reports for the following monthly meetings - Purchasing, Operational and WF Functional Management reviews.
- The Site Buyer works closely with various departments such as Manufacturing, planning, and finance to ensure RM and are delivered to the site, and paperwork is submitted to Finance for goods and services received.
- Possess a strong working knowledge of DCL health and safety procedures, including emergency response, as well as the ISO 9001 Quality System.
- A general working knowledge of relevant environmental legislation is also required.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned from time to time by the Vice President Global Procurement/Site Manager.

**KNOWLEDGE / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE**:

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
- Knowledge of Baan/Infor M3 preferred, importing procedures and incoterms.
- Understanding of reach regulations and experience in the chemical sector.
- Demonstrated command of the English language, both oral and written.
- Proven interpersonal skills, tact, and diplomacy.
- Attention to detail. ability to multi-task, plan, organize and meet schedules and deadlines.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Purchasing and working towards or qualified CIPS qualifications.

**POSITION/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK** Full time position. Office environment with occasional travel for supplier visits. PPE wear is required when entering plant. Monday -Thursday 8:00am to 4:30pm Friday 8:00am to 1:30pm
