CBR is looking for a dedicated** Freelance Gaming News Writer** to join the team.

CBR is the oldest and most respected comic book culture website in the world. We are the leading resource for coverage on comic books, gaming, film and TV, anime and nearly every other kind of fandom. It is the internet’s first and final stop for nerd culture, news, commentary and community.

If you have your finger on the pulse of the gaming world, with a proven ability to capture the attention of readers across the world, then CBR wants you to join its award-winning writing team

CBR welcomes everyone. We are striving for more representation on our site and we want to hear YOUR voice. We’re always looking for skilled and passionate writers to make an impact in the world of comics. We want the voices on our site to reflect the diversity of the community it serves.

**Responsibilities**:

- Write 2 - 3 news articles daily, under a wide range of word counts
- Stay up to date on the latest news and trends in video games
- **
Knowledge of the following franchises a strong plus**: Magic The Gathering, World of Warcraft, League of Legends, and Fortnite
- Coordinate with News Shift Editors and Senior CBR News Editor for assignments and feedback

- 2 - 3 sample titles you would present right now as suitable CBR news pieces
**Applicants must be highly motivated and possess the following requirements**:

- Relevant experience in writing and editing
- Some background in journalistic writing is preferred
- Broad working knowledge of old and current video games
- Available at peak hours and strategic posting times strongly preferred; **weekend availability a plus**
