We are looking to recruit a Logistics Senior Supervisor based in Halewood, this is a unique opportunity to join a recognised, international specialist manufacturer at an award winning site.
The role will involve the Supervision of all Logistics personnel activities and deliverables within the Logistics Office. The successful applicant will work closely with Logistics Manager, internal Production departments and external Customers and Suppliers.
Key responsibilities as the Logistics Senior Supervisor
- To be role model for company behaviors and requirements.
- Supervision and development of a team.
- Empower a team to accept responsibility for their roles in the delivery of tasks.
- Promote safety and a Zero Accident culture
- Access multiple logistics IT systems to determine customer requirements and timing.
- Work with central MPL, planning monthly / weekly /schedules.
- External warehouse / consolidator process owner.
- Take the lead with any logistics RFQ quotations / negotiations.
- Prepare the department and area for new programs as they transition into power unit production.
- Interpret and implement the Companies personnel policies and maintain an efficient and consistent level of performance from direct reports. Investigate and attempt to resolve grievances raised through procedure.
- Driving cost, budget control and quality improvements with a keen customer focus
- Implement and adhere to Health and Safety at Work act with regular liaison with Safety, Engineering and Fire Prevention personnel and other relevant parties as appropriate.
- Ensure housekeeping is maintained to a high standard.
- Liaison with appropriate service/support areas as required, such Production, Engineering, Human Resources, Training etc.
- Ensure appropriate receipt of materials/parts, their correct handling, use and processing throughout the area.
- Manage inventory to budget; Make parts, External Parts and Finished goods.
- Develop Training Needs Analysis and Training Plans in order to achieve a minimum 3×3 versatility within the department.
- Ensure the Cycle count process is maintained, issues investigated and reported.
- Ensure the team are audit ready at times.
- Support Employee attendance initiatives and manage absence control activities such as counselling, capability, and disciplinary procedures.
- Assist in the identification and implementation of manpower efficiencies.
- Implement Company Policy on pay and benefits administration.
Qualifications and Skills required by the Logistics Senior Supervisor
- Essential: NVQ required by the Level 3 in an appropriate field of education (or be willing to work towards this NVQ3).
- Essential: Computer literacy, including MS packages.
- Good knowledge of CMMS3
Previous Knowledge/Experience required by the Logistics Senior Supervisor
- High level of motivation, innovation skills and initiative.
- Evidence of leadership, interpersonal and team building skills.
- Good communication skills and be able to delegate clearly, effectively, fairly, and consistently.
- Be able to cope with change, have a flexible approach towards change and be prepared to respond to change initiatives in a proactive manner to ensure efficient running of the operation.
The site is undergoing a major transformation of Product, People, Equipment and Processes. a collaborative approach is essential to ensure continued products and new products are integrated successfully.
As the Logistics Senior Supervisor, you’ll receive the following:
