We are looking for a Support Officer, on a full-time permanent basis, to join our passionate and committed Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Team.

We also want to ensure that we create an inclusive and positive working environment for all members of the organisation.

This role is integral to these aims.

**Key Accountabilities**
- The Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Support Officer will facilitate the development, management and activity of Derbyshire Constabulary’s Staff Support Networks (SSN’s).
- To ensure the SSN’s actions and focus is aligned with the Force Purpose, Principals and Priorities
- Lead the delivery of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I) events including staff development days, conferencing, and attendance at regional and national events.
- Work with SNT and ED&I Team members to initiate, develop and maintain relationships with external groups and community representatives which support those with protected characteristics.

**The must haves**
- Working knowledge of and adherence to Equality Act 2010 (including Positive Action), national guidance and strategy.
- Ability to listen to issues, concerns and/or barriers identified by communities or people with protected characteristics. Where appropriate, willingness to take responsibility to address these issues and escalate as to the most appropriate person.
- Ability to build rapport with individuals and able to build relationships, influence and negotiate with external and internal stakeholders to work towards common aims and outcomes.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable when developing and delivering work priorities and plans to meet new and competing demands.
