This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual to join the team at Polar as they advance through an exciting stage of the business’s growth and to work in a company working with the prestige car, motorsport and aviation sectors.

As an IATF 16949 approved company, a safety, health, environment and quality (SHEQ) advisor will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, environmental regulations, and quality control to the highest standard of product quality, traceability and ongoing improvement throughout the business.

Group Polar Limited is an advanced engineering and manufacturing company. Specialisms at their facility in Norwich, Norfolk includes the design and manufacture of carbon fibre and composite components, machining and coating. Polar serves a broad spectrum of industry sectors which includes Defense, Automotive, Sport & Leisure, Communications, Alternative Energy, Marine and Medical.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Collaborating with all business stakeholders to ensure our Safety, Health & Environment strategy is delivered, and that we comply with all relevant legislation at all times.
- Actively maintain management systems, ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949
- Take ownership of QA Inspectors, driving them to maintain the highest standards.
- Liaising with customers to understand and resolve quality issues and report back to the Senior Leadership Team.
- Investigate and report on incidents, dangerous occurrences, ill health and near misses.
- Communication and training delivered through the use of 'Toolbox Talks', regular meetings, best practice and safety alerts.
- Visit suppliers to conduct on-site audits and resolve any supplier quality issues identified on site.
- Continual promotion of the health & safety ethos and culture at all levels within the business.
- Ensure all requirements and visual quality standards are maintained at all times.
- Determine the root causes of failure using appropriate analysis tools.
- Evaluate manufactured products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Coordinate quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximise product reliability, efficiency and cost.
- Present internal Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and meetings to communicate quality activities.
- Carrying out System, Process and Product audits as part of the company’s audit team.
- Supporting the development of the company’s QMS

**Skills and experience required**:

- Relevant qualifications and working experience in managing a SHEQ environment (IOSH Managing Safely Award or equivalent).
- Ability to utilise appropriate analytical tools to resolve product/process issues.
- Able to communicate effectively to internal staff regarding quality issues and expectations to meet and exceed customer requirements.
- Internal and external auditing.
- Must be PC proficient using MS Office Suite.

**Desirable skills**:

- Knowledge of ISO and IATF standards.
- NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
