**Location**: Polaris House, Swindon, Wiltshire
**About**:
BBSRC is recruiting for a Strategic Engagement Manager to join our Strategic Planning, Evidence and Engagement Domain (SPEE). You will support BBSRC's engagement with key stakeholders to inform the development and delivery of BBSRC's strategy. This involvesworking closely with strategy teams, planning leads and business partners within BBSRC and across UKRI, as well as with external partners and stakeholders.
**Responsibilities**:
- Supporting BBSRC's engagement with Strategic Partner Universities, Additional Strategic Partner Universities and strategically funded institutes.
- Obtaining and synthesising inputs, insights and advice to inform the ongoing development and implementation of BBSRC's strategy and forward plans, through effective engagement with key stakeholders, internally and externally
- Producing papers, briefings, presentations and other materials relating to the above, for internal and external audiences
- Representing SPEE and BBSRC on working groups and projects, and at internal and external meetings and events, including deputising for other members of the team.
- Contributing to other activities as required to ensure successful delivery of BBSRC and UKRI vision, mission and objectives
**Requirements**:
Essential:
- excellent organisational skills; ability to plan and prioritise a varied workload to ensure that work meets deadlines, whilst remaining flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and demands
- excellent interpersonal skills; ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with others (internally and externally)
- effective team worker, able to collaborate with and provide support to colleagues at all levels
- ability to analyse, interpret and summarise information from a range of sources to identify produce clear and well-structured documents for internal and external audiences
- able to think and work creatively to tackle problems and challenges, demonstrating own initiative and judgement within given constraints and asking for and giving help when needed
Desirable:
- experience of strategy development in a science or research-related context
- ability to identify and take account of emerging scientific, economic, social, political and environmental trends on own work and the work of the team
- knowledge of the UK funding system for research and innovation
