Support and Care Worker

We are looking for caring and professional individuals with a happy to help attitude to join our small team. Supporting an individual who has cerebral palsy with all their daily tasks and all personal care.
The individual lives in their own home, within a court of supported living units. You will be expected to strive to promoting their independence on a day to day basis also incorporating the individuals social and life goals.
The individual uses an electric wheelchair and owns a wheelchair accessible vehicle. A driving licence would be essential as you would need to drive their vehicle to appointments and social activities. You would never be expected to use your own vehicle. They are a very happy social person, who enjoys being busy and being out and about meeting friends, sailing, cinema, theatre, swimming, sporting events, cooking and baking to name a few.
Knowledge of cerebral palsy an advantage but not compulsory. Full training would be provided.
Ideally you would work 24 hour shifts to include a sleep in, ( sleep ins are SLEEP INs the individual does sleep through the night) although other shifts are available.
We are a small team striving to create a happy, healthy, home and life for the person we care and the whole team. Person Centred Care is a heart of everything we do.
At MPL Care we take the welfare of our support workers very seriously. We promote a healthy work/home life balance as we believe this is essential to provide the best possible support. We always allow at least 2 days between shifts after a sleep in.
The opportunity for personal progression is also available. Formal NVQ and other qualifications/training would be available.
A live DBS would be preferable but is not essential, as we would pay for a DBS if required.

All PPE is provided, which includes gloves masks and hand sanitiser. Temperatures checked on arrival, all belongings sanitised on arrival to ensure property is covid safe.
