A GreenTech specialist backed by a wider B Corp certified group of businesses are looking for a Software Engineer to join them in Oxford. They offer a data-driven platform which provides users with insights on their use of energy, prompting behavioural changesand renewable alternatives to ultimately save them money on their bills and reduce their carbon footprint. Their purpose-driven product has taken off with 55,000+ customers and no signs of slowing down, offering a real solution for those battling the costof energy crisis across the UK. The role is based in their Oxford office offers 3 days remote a week, though this is open to discussion.
**What skills you’ll need**:

- Proven software engineering skills with a back-end focus.
- Skilled in either Java or Python with a willingness to use Python moving forward.
- Well-versed in the AWS ecosystem, including Lambda functions, DynamoDB, API Gateway, S3, ECS, Cognito etc.
- Understanding or awareness of writing Infrastructure-as-Code (ideally Terraform).
- Proficient in building Microservices or scalable architecture.
- Confident with CI/CD. They use CircleCI but another tool would suffice.
- Knowledge of API testing & validation (e.g Postman).
- Comfortable navigating complex, established codebases.

**What you’ll be doing
**This role sits in the back-end engineering team which is made up of a Principal Engineer and two others. You’ll be focused on the design, architecture, delivery and maintenance of software into their core platform, which includes writing AWS softwarecomponents and managing the wider infrastructure the code sits on. You’ll be designing systems for new & existing functionality, building things out primarily in Python but also working on existing Java code which will eventually be phased out. You’ll supportthe build of DevOps infrastructure to ensure seamless release & deployments, putting automated processes in place where necessary and writing infrastructure-as-code to progress this. It’s a small team with lots of variety, suiting a self-starter with a desireto make a positive difference through the use of technology.
