**1) JOB DETAILS**
**Job Title Farm Shop Assistant**
**Reports To Farm Shop Manager**
**Hours 16-20 hours per week (8.30am-5.30pm)**
**Days Required Fully flexible - specifically Mon, Tue, Wed, Sat & Sun**
**Salary Negotiable - dependent on experience**
**2) JOB PURPOSE**
**To maximise the sales of Barnhill Farm Shop products while ensuring an effective, efficient & friendly service to customers is provided. Leading, coaching and inspiring your team to keep meeting our customers’ high expectations is expected at all times.**
**3) KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- To be part of a team and help ensure the smooth and effective running of the farm shop
- Maintain a detailed knowledge of the company’s list of products, in order to provide first class information to customers
- Maintain day to day staff administration
- Ensure customers are served at the tills in a positive, friendly manner
- Ensure the team deal with customer enquiries quickly and efficiently, to ensure a high standard of customer service. Make sure that customers are kept up-to-date on the progress of their order/query if it can’t be resolved immediately
- Deal with any customer complaints, escalating to the Manager if required
- Make effective use of visual merchandising to make products more appealing to customers
- Ensure the shelves are fully stocked at all times
- Maintain the stock rotation system, always pulling the oldest products to the front, discounting products a couple of days before their expiry date and removing stock from the shelves the evening the date expires
- Order stock as and when required
- Keep all products priced correctly, ensuring any price changes are updated immediately on the shelves and on our till system
- Maintain & keep records of daily temperature checks for all display counters, fridges & freezers
- Keep yourself clean, tidy & presentable throughout the day, ensuring the team do the same
- Keep the shop, shelves, fridges, freezers, stock etc clean & tidy at all times
- Ensure incoming stock is checked for the correct quantities / best before dates and damages. Any delivery errors must be reported to the relevant suppliers on the day of arrival
**4) KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**
- Previous experience in the hospitality industry
- Have a keen interest in food
- Experience of a retail environment, including customer interaction & visual merchandising
- Exceptional organisational skills - being focused and effective at all times
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

The above key responsibilities are accurate at the present time. **Drivers License required due to location.**

Part-time hours: 16-20 per week
**Salary**: £10.42-£11.50 per hour
