We are working with an "Outstanding" Ofsted-rated mainstream academy college in Hillingdon who are currently looking to recruit a college Sixth Form Learning Mentor to start as soon as possible, to work full time. You will be required to work with collegestudents aged Post 16.

**Sixth Form Learning Mentor - Main duties**:
? Supervision of the independent study rooms, creating a positive work culture and mentoring students as required to support them in developing independence, time management skills, successful study and revision techniques, and other areas as required.
? Organisation of study spaces to promote learning
? liaising with careers and pastoral staff re raising achievement and aspirations of students.

**Assistance in administrative work and sixth form data.**

This will include:
? Monitoring, tracking and follow up on sixth form attendance and punctuality.
? Tracking and managing data from both prospective and current sixth form students.
? Day to day handling of student enquiries.
? Filing of student records.
? Update and management of SIMs for sixth form students.
? Time management coaching and 1:1s linking punctuality and attendance to academic outcomes and future aspirations.

**Other duties**:
? There is the chance in this role to develop in areas of your interest. This can be discussed in your induction to the school.
? Any other duties as directed by the Sixth Form Coordinator or the Head of Sixth Form.

You will be supporting learning and helping raise the attainment of all students within the school, by engaging students in the curriculum, enable them to become independent learners and helping them to participate fully in the life of the school. Keepingstudents focused on a task, encouraging student participation in a positive learning environment and giving positive and negative daily feedback on attendance and levels of behaviour whilst ensuring students conduct themselves in line with the school rules,are also key responsibilities.

This role would be perfect for graduates interested in pursuing a PGCE or Teach First program in the future, who are looking to increase their experience working in schools. The school offers training programmes such as Teach First and Grad2teach. The schoolis within walking distance of an over ground and tube station and is also accessible by a number of popular bus routes.

Sixth Form Learning Mentor - Key skills and experience needed:

- Must have degree/ higher level education
- Previous support working within a school or other transferable child-related experience
- A firm presence and strong behaviour management
- Previous one to one, small group work and/or whole class support
- Professional manner. Proactive, engaging and empathetic.
- Enthusiastic, friendly, patient and determined approach
