**Are you a Safeguarding and Attendance Officer committed to improving the lives of children and young people?**

We are looking for a Safeguarding and Attendance Officer to join our fantastic team at Options Barton.

**Job purpose**

To be a trained deputy safeguarding lead. To run the day to day safeguarding within the school under the direction of the Designated Safeguarding Lead. To deliver staff training on key areas of safeguarding. To Follow the school attendance procedure to supportfamilies with attendance below 95%.
- Under guidance from the Head of School and the Senior Leadership Team, to engage with vulnerable families in order to formulate a package of support
- To act as a point of contact in school for families in need of support
- To signpost families and refer for support where appropriate
- Liaise professionally with external agencies such as Housing, NSPCC, Social Care, Early Intervention, Police, Passenger support and CAHMS
- To attend multi-agency meetings as appropriate
- To carry out home visits where necessary
- To build effective relationships with families
- To maintain regular contact with families of children receiving support to encourage positive family involvement in the child’s learning
- To act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead for the school
