Bridlington School Science Department is looking for an enthusiastic, well organised, team player to join our team. The Assistant Director of Science sits beneath a Director and Deputy Director.
Our aim is to raise expectations and aspirations for all our students. Our tagline is “Science: Always questioning the world around you. Bright minds. Bright futures”.
**The Role**
Following an increased uptake of students opting to study science, we are delighted to be growing our team.
You will have the opportunity to teach Combined Science and Triple Science at GCSE, we also have an offering of Biology, Physics and Chemistry A-Levels with a view to starting BTEC Applied Science Level 3 from September 2023.
In addition to your teaching responsibilities, as Assistant Director of Science, you will have responsibilities for KS3; in particular focussing on teaching and learning, engagement, attainment and progress.
**The Team**
We are a well-resourced department with 8 labs, 2 prep rooms and 10 teachers. We are very proud of our curriculum and how it is designed to spiral our students learning and teach them to become the scientists of the future. As a department we lead on whole school priorities and are extremely passionate about everything Teaching and Learning. Collaboration is key to the success of our department and this includes the planning of resources and CPD to ensure we remain at the top of our game. Extracurricular activities are a fundamental part of our department and we run successful STEM, ECO and Study Skills Clubs. The department is support by 2 technicians and 3 teaching assistants all of who are extremely enthusiastic and form an integral part of our team.

This provides opportunity to be involved in transition and outreach work, but also connections with peers across the local area.

You will join a supportive department who can assist your own career aims including progression. Many of our senior staff joined Bridlington School as NQTs/ECTs.
