**We have a fixed term contract opening to support our Pharmaceutical client within the Barnard Castle area for 6months, offering Laboratory** **support working within an integrated** **environment and with a well established team, fantastic opportunity for an individual seeking experience in a laboratory environment**

The Lab Steward role is to provide services to support the laboratory functions at Barnard Castle.

The role includes, but is not limited to:

- Waste management: solvent, reagent & sample disposals medi bin disposal
- Glassware management: tubes and pipette washing, batch kit creation
- Equipment cleaning: waterbaths
- Lab consumables support: stock check of storage areas, replenishment of stock and ordering
- Fridge/Freezer Performance qualification checks.
- Porterage and administration

**Key Accountabilities**
- Ensure that tasks are completed according to the schedule and therefore have no negative impact on production.
- Accountable for adopting the ALCOA+ (attributable, legible, contemporaneous, original & accurate) principles.
- Maintaining 100% in MyLearning & Mitie Learning hub
- Flexibility to cover any activities that supports plant production

- Attention to detail & capability to work methodically to strict processes and procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively and foster good working relationships with a wide range of client, internal and external roles
- Confidence and communication skills to challenge behaviours and drive continuous improvement.
- Can perform under pressure and independent of supervision
- Position requires individual to be mobile (moving to/from various laboratories) and some physical lifting will be necessary

This role would be suitable for a parent returning to work or looking for more flexible hours (25hours/week) to suit the school run or an individual looking to gain experience within a laboratory environment.
