The Marketing and Communications team at DMU is growing, and this newly created role will be a key member of the Directorate, leading the Widening Participation team to deliver innovative activity that will successfullyachieve targets set out in the DMU’s Access and Participation plan.

The Directorate offers full-service marketing and communications support to the university, comprising brand and creative development; design and print services; corporate and student recruitment marketing campaigns; CRM and conversion campaigns; facultymarketing and recruitment; reputation management; media relations; internal and external communications engagement; events; schools and colleges engagement; Widening Participation; enquiry management and follow up; web and digital development and market insight.

As a Widening Participation Manager, you will devise and implement the initiatives set out in the Access and Participation plan, and monitoring and evaluating the activities success' - ultimately, working towards achieving the university's strategic targets.You will develop an innovative portfolio of access and recruitment projects including large-scale events, lead on the operational planning and implementation, coordinating the team to ensure the effective use of resources.

Engaging with local and regional schools, the universities collaborative partners and a wide range of internal stakeholders, you will work to raise aspirations and reduce barriers to university participation. You will work closely with the Head of RecruitmentOperations, deputising where required.

Educated to degree level, or with equivalent qualifications or experience, you will have a demonstrable commitment to the widening access agenda within the HE landscape. Your experience of managing and leading a team, working on fast moving projects andwith a wide range of internal and external stakeholders will stand you in good stead for this varied and vibrant role.

You will be passionate about raising aspirations of young people and wider target groups, have outstanding communication and diplomacy skills and enjoy working towards ambitious target and objectives. This is a role where no two days are the same, with roomfor innovation and new ideas alongside delivery of existing projects and events.
