Our client is currently recruiting for an experienced Procurement professional to join their Purchasing team at their head office in Birmingham. This is a unique opportunity to shape the Purchasing strategy and build strong relationships with suppliers,while driving cost savings and value.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- You will be responsible for developing and delivering strategic sourcing projects and cost-reducing process/supplier improvement projects to drive savings and value to the company
- With the ability to engage with key category stakeholders and suppliers, you'll have the opportunity to shape the company's Purchasing strategy and build strong relationships with suppliers
- You will be responsible for monitoring and managing supplier performance with respect to cost, quality, delivery timeliness and more
- You'll have the chance to review the profitability of ranges and take the appropriate decision to develop/retain/reduce/eliminate
- You will conduct competitor analysis (strategy, portfolio, go-to-market, price point) to identify gaps and opportunities

**Key Experience & Skills**:

- 5+ years experience in Procurement/Sourcing
- Professional certification (CPM, CIPS (Level 4 and above), EIPM)
- Global working experience with evidence of driving strategic improvements and savings
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Results-oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving and financial capabilities
- Ability to define, plan and manage strategies through to implementation
- Able to proficiently use software tools to analyse data and identify and solve complex problems
