Job Overview:
Whitehill Kennels operate during seasonal times mainly between March and November. Due to other commitments, we are looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Kennel Hand, to be here to work independently and unsupervised on occasion during the months of April to October. We have a successful client base and treat our boarders and rescue dogs like our own.
As a Kennel Hand, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to the dogs in our facility. This is an opportunity to work in a dynamic and rewarding environment where you can make a difference in the lives of animals and their owners.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide daily care and attention to animals in the kennel, including feeding, watering, and exercising
- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and common areas to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Monitor the health and well-being of animals, reporting any concerns or changes to the veterinary staff
- Assist with grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trims
- Administer medications as directed by veterinary staff
- Assist with customer service duties such as answering phone calls, scheduling bookings, and providing information to clients

**Requirements**:

- Access to own transport is essential due to location of the business. There are no public transport routes available
- The ability to think on your feet and problem solve
- Previous experience in animal care or related field preferred but no experience will be considered with the right person as full training can be given.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients
- Basic knowledge of health and safety and housekeeping tasks
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed

The day shift is split into two parts
- 8am-12pm and 4pm-6pm. This equates to 6 hours per day on the days you would be working

**Job Types**: Part-time, Temp to perm
Contract length: 6 months

**Salary**: £11.44 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
