**Job Overview**:
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) to join our surgical team. As an ODP at our hospital, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of patients during surgery, while also assisting our surgeons and anaesthetists in delivering exceptional care.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Preoperative Care**:Assist with patient assessments and preparations before surgery.
Ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are ready for surgical procedures.
Collaborate with the surgical team to create a sterile environment in the operating room.

**Intraoperative Support**:Hand instruments and supplies to surgeons during the procedure.
Monitor patient vital signs and respond to any changes in condition.
Administer medications and fluids as directed by the anaesthetist.
Assist in maintaining a sterile field throughout the surgery.

**Postoperative Care**:Care for patients as they recover from anaesthesia.
Monitor patients for any adverse reactions or complications.
Document all patient information and surgical procedures accurately.

**Team Collaboration**:Collaborate closely with surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and efficient patient care.
Participate in ongoing training and development to stay updated with the latest best practices and technologies in the field.

**Patient Advocacy**:Ensure patients are informed and comfortable before, during, and after surgery.
Offer emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families.

**Qualifications**:

- Diploma or Degree in Operating Department Practice.
- Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Proven experience as an ODP in a surgical setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to patient safety.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
