This role will be to supervise the provision of a high-quality portering service to all modalities within the Radiology Department.

This post will be a mix of portering as well as supervision responsibilities. You will be required to work on the floor however you will be given allocated days to complete supervision activities and there will be a range of on-the-job training to cover aspects such as Infection Control and Moving and Handling.

Provide appropriate care for patients who attend the department, ensuring their visit is as safe and pleasant as possible.

Ensure all policies, Standard Operating Procedures and Protocols within the Department and Trust are followed and appropriate action is taken if they are not followed.

To complete all relevant training required for the role as well as completing an annual PROUD appraisal.

To lead the day to day running of the Radiology Portering Service and to highlight issues to the HOP.

To deputise for the HOP as appropriate.

To prioritise their workload accordingly and the workload of the portering team they supervise.

To ensure that all direct reports have completed their mandatory training and conduct PROUD appraisals.

To ensure all induction processes are followed in line with the local and trust protocols

The directorate of MIMP (Medical Imaging and Medical physics) is a key player in every aspect of the services the Trust provides. We provide services as diverse as imaging and biomedical engineering.
