**About us**

The Grange School is seeking to engage a cleaner to work as part of the schools Cleaning and Estates team. You will be employed directly by the school and should be a suitably qualified and experienced cleaner to ensure that we offer a first class environment for all students, staff and visitors to the school.

Cleaning staff will work under the day to day direction of the Cleaning Supervisor, and under the overall management of the schools Estates Manager.

For everyone's security we will complete an enhanced DBS check and reference check with previous employers and people who know you.

Good spoken and written English is essential and because of our location access to transport is likely to be needed.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 3:45pm to 7:15pm. Additional working hours may become available to suit, including peak time cover, daytime and weekends.

**Duties to include**:

- Cleaning certain parts of the school site
- Vacuuming carpeted areas and washing floors of cloakrooms and toilets in designated areas
- Sweeping uncarpeted areas
- Emptying and cleaning bins
- Spot cleaning of spillages
- Cleaning desks, seats and skirting boards
- Cleaning toilet areas and replenishing toiletries
- Cleaning doors and windows
- Checking stock levels of cleaning materials
- Report all defects/hazards immediately to the Cleaning Supervisor

**Skills and experience you will need**:

- A reasonable level of fitness
- Punctual, reliable and trustworthy
- Able to manage time effectively
- Ability to work both alone and in a team
- Awareness of health and safety procedures
- Reading skills for following instructions
- Maths skills for measuring cleaning fluids
