Zoo Administrator

Fabulous opportunity to be part of our Zoo We need a knowledgeable Zoo Administrator to join us permanently here at Drayton Manor reporting into our Head of Zoo operations. You’ll be fundamental to our Zoo, acting as our registrar being responsible for the record keeping of our amazing animals and overall administrative duties. **Your responsibilities as a Zoo Administrator will include but not be limited to;**
- Acting as a collection registrar with overall responsibility for animal records using Zims
- Manage a team of Zero hours Zoo Keepers who cover all sections within the Zoo when needed
- Conducting audits of collection inventory against physical animal count
- Ensuring our memberships EAZA and BIAZA are compliant, including Zoo Licensing
- Liaising with Human resources ensuring that all staffing shifts and holidays are entered onto our employee system
- Placing orders for food, bedding, medical supplies and liaising with our finance team on deliveries and invoices
- Interact with guests in a professional and confident manner
- Assist staff with animal welfare audits and will assist in coordinating action plans
- Coordinate & minute Welfare, Research & Ethic Committee Meetings

**Key Skills and attributes as a Zoo Administrator**
- Ideally you will have current or previous experience working in a Zoo
- Proven Experience in an administration role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint
- Strong communication skills, both written and Verbal
- Exceptional time management and planning skills
- You’ll be well organised and able to cope with a varied workload
