**KEY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE**
We are looking for an Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Officer who is responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental safety laws, who works to protect the environment from potentially harmful business practices while also protecting employees from environmental hazards in the workplace. You will be responsible for ensuring records, risk assessments, procedures and training are up to date and compliant.
You will be responsible for identifying areas of improvement and the coordination of projects to minimise carbon impact, in addition to firmly integrating environmental sustainability into the work we do. As well as this, you will carry out site audits and embed environmental narratives throughout the business.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Monitoring health and safety performance across multiple sites of the business (including but not limited to HQ, Boutiques and external storage areas) keeping records, risk assessments and procedures up to date and compliant.
- Develop measures to enhance organisational awareness and best practice of environmental health and safety standards
- Evaluate risk factors that impact efficiency.
- Facilitate discussions on workplace H&S reports and findings.
- Organise internal audit schedules for quality, safety and health, for employees and external clients.
- Inspecting business practices to check they meet health and hygiene standards
- Investigating complaints about environmental, health and safety problems
- Attending environmental health incidents and following up with further investigations as appropriate to make sure that the correct procedures are applied in line with H&S standards and policies
- Implement policy changes to better protect employees and the environment.
- Review environmentally friendly trends in the industry for implementation.
- Lead initiatives to reduce our environmental impact, implementing eco-friendly practices and supporting responsible environmental, health and safety actions.
- Ensure compliance with evolving environmental and safety regulations
- Carry out safety inductions for contractors/visitors and new starters.
- Any additional activities as required.
**PERSON SPECIFICATION**
- Proven expertise in environmental, health and safety and compliance
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Computer literate in Microsoft office
- Ability to analyse and solve problems
- Experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment (preferable)
- Confidence working with all levels of the business
- Ability to keep up to date with environment legislation
- NEBOSH or IOSH qualification preferred
