**About this Role:
**Fawkes & Reece South are working with a civil engineering and rail contractor that works in collaboration with a private client on a rail framework and standalone projects covering Hampshire. They are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join oneof their busy commercial teams involved in various rail projects. The scope of work includes asset construction, maintenance, and repairs. Schemes can range anywhere from £10k to £1m, and standalone projects worth up to £6m. This reputable Main Contractoroperates nationally on rail, civil and engineering projects.

**Senior Quantity Surveyor Duties Include**:

- Accurate monthly forecasting
- Ability to challenge resources and costs, maintaining deadlines in line with the monthly commercial calendar
- Produce and send enquiries to subcontractors inviting them to tender and engagement with the supply chain
- Receive and analyse quotations, liaising with Contracts Managers and Site Agents regarding price, proven history, availability etc.
- Notify in writing both successful and unsuccessful subcontractors promptly
- Produce and process formal subcontract documents and certify interim and final payments and final subcontract account
- Produce bill of quantity/activity schedule for payment purposes
- Quantity surveying experience in the construction industry, preferably with experience in the NEC Suite of Contracts
- Degree or equivalent qualified in quantity surveying
- Solid attention to detail, self-motivation, a problem-solving nature and a drive to succeed
- Ability to interpret technical/design detail to assist in problem-solving and valuing engineering options as appropriate
- Experience with change and risk management, as well as tender and final account negotiation skills

**The day rate is outside IR35**
- £400-£450 Day Rate
