**About Patina**

For the past 10 years Rich & Geffen have run their Newcastle restaurant & pottery, Kiln. A blend of Middle Eastern and Northumbrian food, warmth of culture and energy. With a shared love of Scotland from a lifetime of exploring, living and eating Rich and Geffen opened their second restaurant Patina in the Scottish capital. Patina brings together a curiosity of food rooted in craft, creativity, sustainability. We work to challenge the expected, crafting positive change in how we approach Patina. We have our bakery, restaurant, bar and events business on site, so a hub of activity and inspiration.

We build, nurture and champion relationships at the source, working closely with growers, producers and makers across Scotland and the North. Our coffee is sourced from St. Martins coffee, our milk from Mossgeil, butter from Edinburgh Butter co., flour from Wildfamed, fish from Belhaven, with seasonal produce from The Free Company. The list goes on with more incredible suppliers we are proud work with.

Alongside our suppliers, we also work closely within the craft and creative industries. Our furniture is made by independent makers, and crockery lovingly custom crafted in our house pottery at KIln, our sister space in Newcastle.

We’re proud to hold ourselves accountable, always striving for better ways to do business, placing people and planet at the source of what we do. The building we call home for example, is a net carbon space, with our entire operation powered solely on renewable energy. We have a indoor bike park, and showers so we have the facilities to encourage sustainable travel to work alongside the tram stop at our front door. We’re also lucky to have sports facilities on site so we can always get a game in after work. We truly care about making positive impact in all areas of what we do

Located in Patina at Edinburgh Park, you will join a small yet exceptional team of baristas and bakers. As one of the many customer facing roles at Patina, the focus is to curate incredible food and drink experiences within a space filled with community and warmth.

**The role responsibilities**

Within the role you will:

- You’ll bring a vibrant, warm and friendly service to our bar; from preparing drinks and cocktails to barista skills making
- Taking responsibility for ensuring the service of all drinks is efficient and delivered in a warm manner
- Assist guests with sharing your knowledge of cocktails, wines, spirits and other drinks
- Develop and communicate a clear understanding of our seasonal food offerings to assist with daily service
- Meticulously preparing drinks; accurately measuring, following recipes and making sure they’re presented immaculately
- Maintaining and managing a clean and well-organised bar area, including preparing fresh ingredients for service
- Bringing your creativity and contribute to the development of new drinks and offerings, as well as working with local suppliers to curate events and other bar details
- You’ll be proficiently up selling and encouraging other team members to do the same at every opportunity
- Interacting with our guests, always warm, professional, helpful and doing everything you can to exceed their expectations

Essential qualities to have
- Proven experience in bartending
- Meticulous attention to detail, and an ability to identify mistakes and opportunities for better service and standards
- Outstanding customer facing skills   
- Highly organised and efficient whilst working in both busy, and calmer moments on shift consistently 
- Demonstrable experience of exceptional customer service and front of house  
- A clear verbal communication style   
- Demonstrable experience of working independently and as part of a team led by core values and business objectives. 
- Team collaborator and motivator

Desirable qualities to have
- Experience and knowledge in independent and local food scene
- Keen interest in sustainability, and arts and crafts.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: From £13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 45 per week
