The level of responsibility for this post is much higher than might be implied by the title.
The role of the MHA Administrators Assistant is to provide comprehensive administrative support to the Mental Health Act Administrator. The ability to work without supervision is an important aspect of this post as the position includes covering the duties of the Mental Health Act Administrator in their absence.
The post holder will be required to develop a sound operational knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983, including Mental Health Law, Mental Capacity Act and any subsequent legislation.

By the nature of the duties, the post holder is required to maintain strict confidentiality and will be expected to deal with patients, relatives and visitors with courtesy and discretion at all times.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
