**Job Overview**:
We are currently looking for a passionate, talented, and knowledgeable Polymer Technologistwith proven experience to join a collaborative and innovative team.

As a Polymer Technologist, you will be responsible for research and development of new Footwear products and materials, to meet our group requirements, and investigation of technical issues.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Material Processing and Injection Moulding.
- Operation of test equipment to enable assessment of product performance.
- Adjustment of Polymer formulations and troubleshooting of adhesives and elastomer materials.
- Repair/ maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Mixing of new materials on a two roll mill or on a Twin screw compounding extruder.
- Data analysis, processing, reporting and drafting technical manuals for use by Customers and Colleagues.
- Plan and carry out complex research projects, such as the development of new footwear products and materials.
- Evolution of existing products and processes.
- Encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
- Ensure products comply with current regulations and quality requirements, through establishing control specifications and testing procedures as agreed with departmental manager.

**Key skills and experience**:

- A Polymer Technology/ Chemistry/ Engineering degree or similar qualification in a related field.
- At least one year’s experience with Polymer Technology/ Injection Moulding.
- Knowledge of footwear testing and manufacturing would be an advantage but not essential.
- Practical knowledge of Rubber and Plastic processing, including Injection moulding, mixing, calendaring, compression moulding and compounding.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations.
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to deal with sensitive information with discretion and to maintain confidentiality.

- Diploma of Higher Education (preferred)
