An exciting opportunity has arisen for three dispensing assistants with excellent pharmacy calculation skills to join a team consisting of a senior pharmacist, pharmacist, checking technician and dispensing assistants providing outpatient services to Birmingham Women’s Hospital and also a vacancy at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Once established at your primary site we would expect you to expand your skills by working across both sites. The outpatient service is currently going through an important development phase and you will be a key member of the dispensing team assisting our development.

Essential attributes
- GCSEs in English and Maths
- NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services (whole award)
- Knowledge of data protection and patient confidentiality
- Able to perform pharmaceutical calculations for liquid doses.
- Good time management skills, able to prioritise
- Excellent keyboard skills
- Ability to tackle routine tasks accurately
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Motivated and enthusiastic
- An understanding of and the ability to undertake the duties outlined in the Job description
- A flexible attitude to working in all areas of the pharmacy department, responding willingly to the demands of the service with regard to weekend working
- Excellent team player
- Ability to remain professional in busy circumstances
- Able to travel between sites.
