Our client, a hugely successful manufacturing company based in Norwich, is currently seeking a CAD /SolidWorks Design Engineer to join their growing technical and production team.

This is a full time, Monday - Friday, permanent position. This role offers professional and personal progression/development within the business.

Hours:
Monday - Thursday: 08:00 - 16:30

Friday: 08:00 - 15:30

**Job purpose**:
You will be able to work above and beyond the call of duty when required. Whilst working between the Customer Service Sales team and the Production Factory Operation, you will be required to maintain and share professional and technical knowledge with colleagues.

As the CAD Design Engineer, you will help drive an efficient CAD process inline with the business needs, the aim is to progressively develop the role and responsibilities within and around the operation and engineering department (training and guidance willbe provided). Our client our seeking applicants who have the desire and ambition to be part of a professional team but also show ability to work with and support their colleagues.

You will work closely with the sales team and production staff to improve and develop the role, so the ability to communicate effectively between colleagues, clients and suppliers is essential.

**Job duties for the CAD Design Engineer include**:

- Use SolidWorks to create 3D models and designs to a high standard.
- Work from a BOM or initial layout to develop products from concept to manufacture, from quote to Drawings
- Create structured bills of material.
- Redesign and design from existing Drawings.
- Design bespoke from fresh drawings.
- Design bespoke from standard product drawings.
- Work within the scope of ISO 9001.
- Design products within the boundaries of the machinery.
- Observe control points for quality and health & safety
- Ensure all production staff is kept up to date with any changes.
- Work with production staff to improve and develop a positive design role.
- Investigating drawing issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
- Investigate drawing issues; identifying solutions; recommend corrective action where necessary
- Attend lean manufacturing workshops / training sessions when required.

As the CAD Design Engineer, you will ensure targets and lead times are met while demonstrating strong communication skills between different departments within the business.

You will have the ability to work to tight deadlines, work as part of the technical / sales team and maintain and share of professional and technical knowledge also attending lean manufacturing workshops / training sessions when required.
