An exciting opportunity to join the Research Accounts team, who are responsible for the setup, maintenance and reporting of Research Projects as a Senior Research Finance Advisor.

**About the Role**

Reporting to the Research Finance Manager, this is a key role within central finance and works closely with academic departments to oversee the financial management of the University’s research portfolio. Specifically, the post holder will look after its own portfolio of departmental research projects and will be the prime Research Accounts contact person for those departments.

In addition, be responsible for high profile research project reporting and developing systems and process to bring on improvements to the timing, quality and reliability of research financial information bringing visible benefits to the wider university research community.

The role demands a high level of personal responsibility and initiative, excellent problem-solving skills and an ability to manage large and complex amounts of information. The post holder will be expected to develop a considerable level of expertise in the management of grants, coupled with a thorough understanding of the Projects module on Oracle Financials. At the same time, you will develop a detailed understanding of the requirements for FEC accounting.

You will be based in Hythe Bridge Street but you may be able to agree a pattern of regular remote working with your line manager.

**About You**

The post holder must have effective interpersonal skills at all levels and an ability to communicate confidently and appropriately with an extensive range of people.

The post holder must have excellent problem solving skills, with a logical approach.

The post holder must be able to work to deadlines, and have the ability to manage a wide caseload of projects and customers.
