The Security Industry Authority (SIA), the UK Government's Arm's Length body responsible for the regulation of the private security industry, are looking for an Operational Trainer to join their Inspections and Enforcement team on a permanent basis.

**Job Purpose**

You will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the design, delivery, evaluation and continuous development of a range of operational learning and development requirements for staff working within the Inspections and Enforcement directorate.

You will contribute to the delivery of the SIA's statutory purpose to protect the public by ensuring that the skills and capabilities of Inspections and Enforcement staff are maximised, and the highest standards of service delivery and professionalism are maintained.

**Responsibilities**
- To be responsible for the successful introduction, roll out and development of the College of Policing Professionalising Investigation Programme (PIP) and Intelligence Professionalisation Programme (IPP) programmes within the I&E directorate
- To coordinate and oversee the delivery of a range of existing I&E training requirements to ensure that the learning objectives are achieved and training is continuously developed to meet the changing needs of the organisation.
- To manage the continuous professional development (CPD) requirements of I&E staff
- To assist with the design and delivery of any newly identified training programmes to meet identified needs within the workforce.
- To design and produce clear, concise and well-presented training support material, for use, before, during and after training.
- To offer appropriate guidance and expertise to I&E staff, in order to facilitate their personal development.
- To liaise and consult with other colleagues, both internally and externally, in order to identify a variety of training solutions for the organisation.
- To undertake continuous assessment/validation/evaluation of I&E training programmes, ensuring that they are appropriate to the needs of individuals, the organisation and are of a consistently high standard.
- To maintain and develop personal skills and knowledge to ensure currency of training and development initiatives
- Be able to work effectively as an individual trainer and as part of a larger training delivery team to meet organisational requirements

**Relevant knowledge, skills and experience**
- Hold the Level 4 Certificate in Learning and Development qualification or equivalent.
- In depth knowledge of College of Policing PIP and IPP curriculum
- Proven understanding of the training process (including learner needs analysis and evaluation)
- Experience in the delivery of classroom-based training and associated continuous professional development
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Experience in successfully managing, motivating, leading and developing others
- Able to engage with a variety of audiences through a range of media to inform and persuade
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills to quickly establish effective relationships with staff and stakeholders
