**Job Title**:Youth Worker

**Terms**:37.5 hours per week over 5 days

**Job Purpose**:To help care experienced young people to have a good life.

This specific role will involve supporting Carefree in its delivery of youth work, working with young people in and leaving care, promoting positive emotional health and well-being and represent their views to others.

**Main Tasks**:

- To ensure that the organisation is meeting the needs of young people in care by involving them in all aspects of Carefree’s work.
- To take supervised responsibility for ensuring that Carefree are keeping in touch and engaging young people through our positive activities across Cornwall.
- To take a support role in the delivery, planning and evaluation of positive activities for young people.
- To raise the profile of both Carefree and of looked after young people as active participants in their own lives.
- To support others to evaluate and report on Carefree’s activities to relevant stakeholders including young people.
- To ensure that all work delivered by Carefree is appropriately risk assessed, within health and safety guidelines and is delivered in an anti-discriminatory way that promotes equality of opportunity.
- To undertake relevant training and qualifications, as agreed with your manager.

**Terms of employment**

**Post**: Youth Worker

**Salary**: £24,049 - £25,731 per annum (pro rata for part time roles), depending on qualifications and experience. Pension contributions matched at up to 6% of salary.

**Contract**: 37.5 hours overs 5 days on a variable basis with an emphasis on holidays, evenings & weekends.

**Expenses**:All agreed expenses incurred in carrying out the work will be reimbursed. Mileage over and above your regular commute, can be claimed at 45p per mile.

**Notice period**:One month on either side.

**Location**: Based at Carefree, Clinton Passage Redruth (with positive activities being delivered at a range of activity and youth centres across Cornwall)

**Salary**: £24,049.00-£25,731.00 per year
