The Audiology Service covers the boroughs of Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale (HMR), Bury and Oldham.

This post primarily will work for Oldham Audiology Service it will be based at both The Integrated Care Centre in Oldham and Nye Bevan House in Rochdale. There will be some expectation of cross borough working within the clerical team. The Audiology Service is an innovative and dynamic team that provides assessment, treatment and advice to adults and children with hearing difficulties

You will provide comprehensive administration and secretarial support using the audiology patient management system Auditbase

**Key Responsibilities of the Post**:

- Accepting referrals using e booking and allocating patients to appropriate clinic.
- Telephone booking of appointments
- Provision of clinical correspondence and reports

**Key Requirements of the Person Specification**:

- Computer skills, clinical terminology and good communication skills with other professionals and the public

**Hours of work**: 37.5 hours within operating hours of 8.00am - 6.00pm
- Accepting referrals using e booking and allocating patients to appropriate clinic.
- Telephone booking of appointments
- Provision of clinical correspondence and reports
- To undertake secretarial duties in the provision of clinical correspondence and reports. This may include audio-typing as required.
- To take triaged referrals from choose and book and add to Audiology Patient Management system.
- To record outcomes on patient management systems e.g. attended, discharged, DNAs etc.
- To arrange suitable clinical appointments in accordance with patients’ choice and send out confirmation letters to patients
- To respond pro-actively to patients’ telephone queries regarding appointments
- To ensure that all patients’ details are recorded and maintained accurately on the Audiology Patient Management System.
- Reception duties as required
- To triage patient enquiries that are primarily routine but occasionally complex and transfer them to a relevant professional
