The role of Credit Control Supervisor will sit within the accounts team and report to the Credit and Billing Manager.

**A bit about the role**

**Credit Control**
- Daily involvement and support to the Credit and Billing Manager whilst having some cross over with the revenue control, billing and cashiers teams.
- Regular face-to-face meetings with partners and fee earners to discuss client and matter debtors
- Working with specific departments of the firm within the London office
- Distribution of partners reports
- Telephoning clients on a daily basis
- Maintains adequate records of conversations with partners/clients on credit control and actions arising from meetings and conversation
- Proactive, setting diary notes to follow up with partners fee earners
- Have a good understanding of double entry book keeping and understanding client files
- Reconciliations of ledgers and preparing statements/cash reconciliations for both internal and external use
- Responsibility to ensure that all requests from clients are actioned and follow up
- Advises on whether balances in client account can be used to settle bills raised

**Supervision**
- Supervising a team of 6 in various UK locations
- Maintain regular communication with Head of Working Capital to discuss key objectives of the team and development
- Be a point of contact and information for overall credit control team and dealing with any queries raised
- Record sickness, holiday and other absences appropriately to Cascade for the overall team and maintain team holiday spreadsheet
- Day to day supervision of the team to ensure all team members across each location is working as required
- Drive high performance within the team ensuring coverage of all credit control ledgers happens at least every other week
- Highlight any issues affecting the performance of any member of the Credit Control team to the Head of Working Capital to agree a plan of action to resolve any issues. This includes the firm's protocol on WFH, poor time keeping and absenteeism.
- Deal with any Employee Relations ("ER") issues in the first instance, escalating any matters as may be appropriate to the Head of Working Capital
- Participate in the end of year moderation process
- Ensure that the probation process is properly managed and any issues that are of concern are discussed
- Build relationships with team and the working capital team more generally
- Collation and distribution of various finance reports
- Working with the credit control team to ensure bad debt provisions are updated and managed monthly
- Understanding the legal industry, hours, units, billing, ebilling, double entry book keeping etc
- Ability to reconcile client/matter files and client account balances
- To ensure office cashiering is completed every day and unreconciled amounts are accounted for correctly
- Working with one specific department to chase invoices beyond payment terms
- Weekly review meetings with credit control team
- Monthly review meetings with department, updating reports and managing follow up meetings/calls etc

**A bit about you**
- To develop strong working relationships with partners and working capital team members
- Requires strong understanding of a professional services firm and knowledge of solicitor working practises and SAR's
- Must be able to communicate effectively with individual partners, partner groups and the working capital team in a professional and personable manner. This is a key role for the visibility of the accounts team and so must be professional and presentable at all times.
- Needs to be able to provide value and quality in all reporting, ensuring data reported is accurate and timely.
- Needs to have strong numeracy and communication skills with a strong attention to detail
- Strong ability and work ethic to meet deadlines under pressure
