Access Supervisor

An exciting opportunity has arisen due to internal promotion for an enthusiastic team player to join our management team

The Reception Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the reception and associated Admin areas. Co-ordinating the day-to-day responsibilities of the reception team, ensuring all functions are adequately resourced based upon patient needs, and carried out in accordance with agreed procedures, protocols and timescales.

To provide support, leadership, first line management and guidance for the reception team, ensuring an efficient and professional manner is maintained and to provide cover to the reception team when needed. You will be responsible for arranging weekly reception rotas and day to day cover. Ensuring that all reception team members are carrying out their duties efficiently, and with sufficient knowledge and training support.

Ensure all reception and administration duties are completed to the highest standard. To Monitor and approve annual leave, completing Reception Appraisals on time and in full on at least an annual basis. To provide communications between patients, doctors and other staff.

The post holder will work closely with the Team leaders to provide the continual improvement of standards across a wide range of clinical and administrative activity,

Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust provides healthcare in hospital and the community to 258,000 people across Southport, Formby and West Lancashire. We are based in Southport District General Hospital which is easily accessible by car or train from Liverpool City Centre (19 miles), Ormskirk (6.5 miles), Wigan (19 miles) and Manchester (44 miles).

Acute care is provided at Southport and Formby District General Hospital and Ormskirk District General Hospital. This includes adults and children accident and emergency services, intensive care and a range of medical and surgical specialities. Women’s and children’s services, including maternity, are provided at Ormskirk hospital.

The North West Regional Spinal Injuries Centre at Southport hospital provides specialist care for spinal patients from across the North West, North Wales and the Isle of Man.
