The role of the Working Supervisor is to provide support to the Service Manager whilst working as a Technician. The main focus of the role will be to ensure that all machinery is progressed through the workshop and repaired on time. As a Working Supervisor, you will be required to support the technicians using a “right first-time” approach to ensure all work is carried out correctly and quality checks repairs to maximise customer satisfaction and departmental profitability.

**Essential Duties**:
**Supervisor Duties**
- Shares daily discussions with the Service Manager to review workshop performance and to address any specific issues.
- Be aware of departmental targets and what is required to achieve them
- Workshop Technician.
- Maintains target productivity as an active Technician whilst supporting the Service Manager to deputise in his absence and support with daily duties and team development as appropriate.
- Plans and allocates work for Technicians based on their expertise and skills when required.
- Coordinates the training program with the Service Manager and ensures that tasks given to Technicians are consistent with their expertise.
- Works with the Service Manager to maintain the organisation of the workshop to ensure the workshop is clean, tidy and safe, and monitors the workshop team.
- Directs and assists Technicians in their tasks to ensure repairs are completed correctly.
- Maintains good discipline and ensures that the Company standards, policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Liaises with the customer if necessary to correctly diagnose nonstandard or intermittent faults, either on the phone or face to face or by a road test which may be accompanied by the customer.
- Greets customers and listens carefully to their needs in the absence of the service manager.

**Technician Duties**
- Performs diagnostics and repairs on agricultural equipment, including AMS products from both the depot and at customers premises.
- Ensures that service processes, policies and guidelines are followed and applied safely, including any health and safety advice or procedures. This includes ensuring all timecards are fully completed.
- Uses diagnostic tools as well as personal experience to diagnose faultsEnsure that all warranty returnable parts are tagged correctly after each repair.
- Responsible for the special tool inventory and recommends the purchase of new tools, if necessary to the service manager.
- Ensures PDI delivery times are met for the sales department, and any associated deliveries are supported by the logistics team and handover personnel.
- Liaises with all departments, to ensure efficiency is maintained.
- Maintains ongoing relationships with John Deere and other manufacturer personnel.
- Acts in a professional manner and actively promotes Ripon Farm Services and John Deere with positivity and integrity and communicates effectively with all parties to drive the business forward.

**Skills & Qualifications**:

- 3 to 5 years’ experience as a Service Technician.
- Ability to lead others, and work independently.
- High level of communication and human relations.
- Ability to train and coach others on technical issues.
- Pays attention to detail and works within prescribed rules and regulations.
- Familiar with John Deere and competitive products.
- Able to work under pressure.
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends.
- Has a positive attitude, integrity, is customer focused and a good communicator.
