Adecco Public Sector are looking to recruit a Payroll and Pensions Officer for a minimum 3 month contract starting on the 1st of May.

This position is covering sickness in the team, and requires an experience payroll professional to join a team of 9 to support in the answering of complex payroll and pension queries.

Duties and responsibilities

1. To support the Deputy and Payroll and Pensions Manager in the effective and efficient provision of payroll and pensions service ensuring that services are delivered to meet legislative, business and customer requirements within relevant timescales.

2. To provide specialist payroll and pensions support to staff in faculties, services and other customers

3. To provide prompt and accurate payment of staff particularly in relation to the calculation and administration of complex payments.

4. To be responsible for the maintenance and control of designated employee records including receiving organising and actioning documentation associated with payroll adjustments and amendments.

5. To provide detailed ad hoc reports for faculties and services as appropriate and for HR Advisors.

6. To contribute to University and HR projects using specialist knowledge and/or manage small scale projects within own service to ensure payroll and pension processes comply with regulations/legislation and policy.

7. To create and revise documents and reports and communicate changes with colleague and customers.

8. To analyse individual pension statements and determine appropriateness of information ensuring Pension contribution are sufficient and accurate for future benefit payments.

9. To receive payroll, pension issues and resolve problems following existing policies, regulations and guidance where necessary to achieve the optimum solution.

10. To build and maintain relationships ensuring timely and productive resolution of changes, including participating in networks/working groups to coordinate activity and build effective relationships.

11. To advise and assist HR teams on payroll related matters and input.

12. To develop and deliver briefings, training and presentations as required.

13. To maintain a good knowledge of regulatory and statutory requirements such that payroll transactions are compliant.
