We are looking for a highly motivated band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated OT team. You will be required to undertake assessments , whilst being a key player in the implementation and development of evidence-based therapeutic activities to aid mental health recovery.
The post-holder will be an effective team member with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Weekend and evening work as and when required.
As a member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) you will contribute to team meetings, attend ward rounds and professionals meetings where you will feedback on the service users’ progress to their community teams.
Your responsibilities:
Manage a caseload using an evidence-based approach and client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions. These will provide service users with the confidence, skills and coping strategies to function in everyday life.
Receive and respond promptly to new admissions, undertaking assessments to identify and prioritise service user’s needs before planning and delivering the appropriate and relevant interventions either on an individual or group basis.
The OT team follows MOHO (Model of Human Occupation) and will support you in completing MOHO based assessments.
Contribute to risk assessments, attend ward rounds and CPA meetings where you will feedback on service users’ engagement in Occupational Therapy. Ensure accurate and timely records are kept detailing each service user’s progress.
Maintain and develop close working relationships with professional and clinical colleagues within the multi-disciplinary team, ensuring clinical practise is in line with Elysium policies and procedures and complies with statutory regulations and quality standards.
Contribute to business growth by actively promoting Elysium therapy services in line with the local unit’s business plan.
Maintain effective communication links with patients, relatives, carers and external professionals throughout the patient’s rehabilitation journey.
Contribute towards service evaluation and development.
There is an opportunity to supervise OT assistants following relevant training.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Qualification or degree in Occupational Therapy
Eligible for HCPC registration following qualification results, awaiting HCPC registration or have full HCPC registration
Evidence of fieldwork and or employment within the Rehabilitation field of Psychiatry (desirable).
RCOT membership is recommended but not mandatory
Strong knowledge of best practices within a similar setting
