**Job Description: Surgical First Assistant (ODP)**:
Circle Health Group is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Surgical First Assistant (ODP) to join our team at Bath Clinic in Somerset, South West England. This is a temporary position with a start date of 23/02/2024 and an end date of 23/02/2024. The shift will start at 08:00:00 and end at 17:00:00, and the payment rate for each shift is £350.64.

As a Surgical First Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the operating room, supporting the surgical team during procedures and ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of patient care. You will work closely with surgeons, anaesthetists, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality assistance and maintain patient safety throughout the surgical process.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assisting surgeons during surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring all necessary equipment is available
- Positioning and prepping patients for surgery, ensuring their comfort and safety
- Providing technical assistance to surgeons during procedures, including suturing, tissue handling, and hemostasis
- Monitoring patients' vital signs and responding to any changes or complications
- Administering medications and fluids as directed by the anaesthetist
- Collecting and preparing specimens for laboratory analysis
- Maintaining accurate documentation of surgical procedures and patient records
- Ensuring all surgical instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and maintained
- Assisting with the transportation of patients to and from the operating room
- Participating in the training and supervision of junior staff, including healthcare assistants and student Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs)

**Requirements**:

- Valid registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as an Operating Department Practitioner
- Previous experience working as a Surgical First Assistant or in a similar role
- Excellent knowledge of surgical procedures and sterile techniques
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Attention to detail and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Flexibility to work varying shifts and adapt to changing priorities
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care and promoting patient safety
