**Medical Summariser**
We require a part-time medical admistrator with a core role to support the summarisation of medical records in a timely fashion for the safety of our patients. Ideally between 24 to 30 hours per week based at the Surgery working as part of our administration team. Salary range according to experience Full Time Equivalent of 37.5 hours is 19,500 to 23,500 per year.

**Key tasks**
To process incoming notes and ensure that key elements of medical history are accurately coded onto the Practice's clinical system (EMIS Web).

To support the development of systems and policies to improve processes and efficiency in relation to summarising and other related administrative activities.

To carry out adminitrative tasks in response to requests from clinical team members.

To support the receipt and return of patient’s medical records as required, liasing with PCSE and the notes storage company.

To scan and code docmentation (patient and clinical correspondence) into the clinical systems as required.

To redirect documentation internally and externally using a range of systems and ensure that activity is appropriately tracked and recorded.

To support redaction of paper and electronic records in line with practice policies.

**Quality and Compliance**
The role hoder will from time to time be required to support adminstrative tasks relating to compliance with NHS Regulations such as policies to comply with CQC requirements.

**Other Duties**
The role holder will from time to time be required to undertake other administrative duties as required by the business.

**Safeguarding and Information Guidance**
To ensure that for all activity that strict adherence is maintained to policies relating to GDPR / confidentiality and safeguarding protections at all times.

**Person specification**

**Essential**
Prior experience in an administrative role demonstrating working at pace to specified quality standards and attention to detail
Knowledge of medical terms
Strong communication skills
General admistrative experience
Confidence with Excel

**Desireable**
Prior experience working in a Primary Care environment ideally using EMIS Web Clinical System.
Knowledge of how to write, maintain and monitor clinical and adminstrative policies within primary care context
Working in a Health Care Enviromment
Working with policies and compliance
