Our client is looking for a Lead Project Planner for a 12 month contract position, located in Aberdeen (Hybrid Working)

**ROLE**

All Planners report into the Lead Planner and the role reports to the Project Controls Manager. This role will be expected to undertake personnel management through the setting of objectives, completing appraisals (targets & objectives for which will be set jointly in conjunction with Contract Manager / Project Manager) and actively support in the development of the team and individual members. This role will also support the hiring process, disciplinaries, manage holiday approvals, sickness notifications and resource cover. The lead planner will challenge and maintain best practise and continuous improvement throughout the function.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- This role will regularly attend all planning meetings across all contracts (not every meeting, but a selection) to ensure quality and continuity is maintained.
- The role will also stand in when necessary for other Planners, although only in emergencies.
- It is responsible for the selection and appointment/removal of Planners and their development, as required. (The Project Controls Manager is accountable).
- It is responsible for defining, running, and managing all cross contract/client planning and reporting processes.
- It is responsible for the optimal use of process and tools and the continual improvement of the planning service.
- It is responsible for interfacing with the Lead Cost Engineer, Lead Document Controller and Lead Estimator to ensure alignment of process, deliverables, and systems where appropriate.
- It is also responsible for defining the reporting standards and templates of the planning function. Where client specific deviations are agreed by the Contract Manager, it will be responsible for documenting said deviations and ensuring compliance.
- This role will own a continuous business improvement plan in conjunction with the respective project control functions. It will also represent the planning function on the Slingshot Steering Committee for digital developments and improvements.
- Lead planner will produce Portfolio level planning reports attend QPRs, MPRs etc. and be involved in the business’ Operational Discipline, Operational Excellence initiatives.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Team leading abilities with minimum 3 years track record
- Planning experience of a minimum 10 years in planning role
- HNC or higher qualifications preferred
- Primavera expert user.
- Organising, chairing meetings and presentation skills critical
- Business planning/Commercial awareness
- Facilitation experience desirable
- Procedure and work instruction writing experience desirable
