**What will you be doing?**:

In this varied role, you’ll be providing reactive maintenance services to funeral homes, food stores and manufacturing sites across the West and East Midlands (and surrounding areas) as well as at the Support Centre based in Lichfield, Staffordshire.

Joining our Facilities Team as a Maintenance Assistant, you’ll carry out reactive maintenance jobs (i.e. fabric work, plumbing, decorating, carpentry, landscaping etc.) within agreed timescales as well as emergency works.

By working collaboratively with specialist contractors when required, you’ll be helping to minimise operational disruptions.

You’ll be required to update and close work orders in our maintenance portal, as well as, completing site inspections and asset registers.

This role will also see you being responsible for the management of tools, stock & trade accounts.

Acting as a cooperative and supportive team member, you’ll be willing to undertake any necessary training and comply with all statutory and Society Health, Safety and Fire Regulations.

Key to this role will be the building and maintenance of effective working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, as well as third parties.

At all times, you’ll maintain our shared values and principles and assist in the promotion of continuous improvement.

**How will I know if I am right for this role?**:

Ideally, you’ll have previous experience in a similar role and a relevant trade qualification.

Due to the nature of our business and the role requirements, you will need to bring multi-site experience
- retail preferrable.

You’ll bring experience of building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders as well as a sound knowledge of Health and Safety in the workplace.

With strong communication skills
- both written and verbal, you’ll also be confident in using IT systems and apps.
