Hardwick Dene Residential Home is a beautiful 47 bed residential home for the elderly located in the picturesque village of Buckden.

We are currently recruiting for a Kitchen Assistant to join our team to assist us to enhance the lives of our elderly residents.

If you have experience of working in a busy kitchen or you are keen to learn new skills then we would like to hear from you?

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. To help prepare food requested by the cook

2. To clear tables after meals and wash up crockery using the dishwasher appropriately

3. To lay the tea trolley that goes out in the morning and afternoon.

4. Ensure all residents in their rooms have jugs of drink.

5. To set tables for meal times ensuring all tables, mats, cruets etc are all clean and topped up if required.

6. To keep the beverage area clean and tidy and ensure tea, coffee, sugar containers etc are topped up.

7. To keep all kitchen cupboards, drawers, shelves sinks and all work surfaces clean and tidy.

8. Ensure all open foods are clearly labelled with opening dates and stored correctly.

9. Ensure the menu is written on the boards and on display for the residents.

10. Wear correct clean uniform everyday.

11. Maintain kitchen hygiene at all time.
