Kitchen Porter

Job Title**:Kitchen Porter**

Report to:Chef
Responsible to: Chief Executive
Hours: 16 hours per week over Tuesday
- Friday
Base: Widdershins Centre, Sebastopol

**PURPOSE OF THE POST**:
To support the catering team to ensure all working areas, equipment, utensils and crockery are clean, tidy and safe to meet food hygiene, customer service standards and support catering team efficiency.

**SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Collecting and washing of utensils and crockery by hand and using dishwasher.
- Ensure sorting and safe storage of kitchen utensils and crockery.
- Cleaning of equipment, kitchen/storage and food preparation areas, including assisting team with rota deep clean.
- Support the disposing and recycling of kitchen rubbish.
- Support the disposing and recycling of kitchen food waste.
- Support the washing/drying of tea towels.
- Setting up service provision areas as and when required.
- Assisting chef with food preparation
- To promote a positive image of older people and of Age Connects Torfaen to other agencies and the general public.

**OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- To meet for regular Supervision with Line Manager
- To attend Staff / team Meetings
- To participate in developing and maintaining good public relationships.
- The work of Age Connects Torfaen changes over time and it is not possible to describe all the responsibilities of the work. It is to be expected that the worker will be called upon to take on responsibilities and tasks in furtherance on the purposes and scope of the post.
- To work in accordance with Age Connects Torfaen policies and procedures, including health and safety and food hygiene.
