About CRES
CRES and Location Strategy operates within the Group Service Company and is a centralised, global function, which supports the business by delivering and operating its real estate and location strategy. CRES has an operational presence in over 40 countries, comprising c.180 internal and c.8,000 outsourced colleagues and is diverse in its specialisms covering everything from Location Strategy, Portfolio Optimisation, Workplace design, Engineering, Colleague Experience, Facilities Management, Transport Services, Construction Project Management and Environment and Health & Safety. CRES is one of the Banks 32 Transaction Cycles. The Role will operate as a director in the Run arm of CRES within the Capital Projects and Workplace team.

Overall purpose of role

Overall responsibility within Barclays for the leadership and delivery of the Workplace solutions. This is an very broad, challenging and pivotal role within the bank, it reports for the Head of Capital Project and Workplace, and therefore is really uniquely place to manage end to end the ‘design, implementation and measurement’ of the banks new workplace including hybrid working, Traders, Banking and Contact Centre Solution. The Role is also going to have a huge influence on the Digital experience design and implementation plan.

Working with a team of external hand pick consultants initially but with the hope to build a small internal team this position needs to manage the key points below:

- Workplace briefing (potentially linking this with the Project Architects, Engineering, F&B, CUX etc to provide a holitic project brief)
- Behavioural engagement/Change
- Metrics and Measurement
- Workplace design
- Clients Expectations in the delivery of both BAU and new construction project delivery.

Successful individual needs to have finesses negational and client management skills, a strong understanding of the impact of workplace and behavioural Change Engagement on an organisation and a strong link to measurement and data.

Key Accountabilities
- Commercial
- Responsible for developing the strategy and delivering of the Workplace standards and Strategies for the Bank
- Work with the Design House and pick up learning and lessons for implementation into new projects.
- Working with the Design Team on Workplace design standards and specification
- Responsible with the project teams for the delivery of key financial targets against the Capital Investment Plans.
- Responsible for identifying and developing opportunities for improvement across Workplace and benchmark both the service and the effectiveness of the function on a regular basis
- Customer
- Manage and develop a team and process for management of the end users client engagement in the Workplace Briefing stage of a project. Working with CRM and Architects & Designers to develop and deliver a full end to end brief
- Manage and develop a team and process to work with all the internal CRES customers to pull their demands into the project
- Manage and develop a team and process to work with all the internal Bank Customers including Brand, HR, GTIS and CSO to pull their demands into the project
- Manage and develop a team and process to work with all the end users clients on Behavioural Change throughout the projects
- Manage and develop a team and process to effectively measure the success of the end delivery and ensure the warranty of the spaces delivered
- Leadership and Teamwork
- Support the Head of Capital Projects in driving the global agenda.
