**Job Opportunity: Finance Assistant (3-Month Contract)**

**Rate**: £15/hr
We are currently seeking a proactive Finance Assistant to join a local authority in Rugby and contribute to the efficient and effective operation of their Works Service Unit. This is a 3-month contract position, offering a hybrid work model to suit your needs. As a Finance Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing financial support to the service, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial procedures.
**Responsibilities**:
- ** To provide financial support to the Works Service Unit**: This includes updating relevant systems such as Agresso and SharePoint.
- ** Track, analyse, and process contractor and supplier invoices**: Ensure accurate assignment of costs for the Works Service Unit.
- ** Create financial reports**: Extract data from various IT systems to support operational management.
- ** System administration support**: Assist with data cleansing and Year-End reconciliations to optimise income generation and control costs.
- ** Handle incoming communications**: Liaise with contractors, suppliers, representatives, interviewees, and members of the public.
- ** Gain and maintain knowledge**: Continuously develop expertise in systems and processes within the Work Services Unit to contribute to service improvement.
- ** Process invoices**: Ensure accurate and timely processing in line with the Council's Financial Standing Orders.
**Requirements**:
- ** Practical experience with business systems**: Previous experience in a corporate environment is preferred.
- ** Proficient in standard IT systems**: Including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- ** 'Right first time' approach**: Commitment to delivering services accurately.
- ** Experience with advanced IT systems**: Familiarity with Agresso, Technology Forge, and SharePoint is advantageous.
- ** Effective communication skills**: Both orally and in writing, with good interpersonal skills.
- ** Ability to work independently and as part of a team**: Initiative and collaboration are essential.
- ** Commitment to data quality**: Ensure accuracy and integrity of information.
- ** Attention to detail**: Meticulous approach to checking own work and that of others.
- ** Strong written communication skills**: Ability to produce clear and concise documents.
