Report to: Head of Strategy and Projects
Location: Wirral

**Salary**: £40,000 - £50,000

- Main Purpose of Job
To be responsible for the development, delivery and success of a programme of strategic change projects, supervising project delivery and informing the Executive Leadership Team on progress and performance. This is an important role which requires a strategicmindset and the ability to set programme goals that align to organisational strategic objectives.
Scope of Job
- To develop a programme approach, ensuring successful delivery of key strategic change projects within the organisation.
- To develop and manage project delivery team(s) that will deliver projects within scope, time, and budget, whilst ensuring benefits are realised.
- To produce status reports, mitigate programme risks and oversee project budgets, escalating issues when necessary and seeking necessary approvals in line with the delegated financial authority framework.
- To support the Head of Strategy and Projects on the development of change capability.
- To support the Head of Strategy and Projects on the delivery of project management training across the organisation.
- To strive for excellence, bringing external experiences and insight.

Qualification and Skills Level
- Degree level education or equivalent; Masters level qualification highly desirable.
- Practitioner Programme / Project Management Qualifications (Prince2, PMQ, PPQ, PMP etc.)
- Evidence of continued professional development.
- Substantial experience of programme management in a variety of organisations / fields.
- Substantial experience of leading project teams.
- Demonstrable knowledge of change management.
- Demonstrable ability to work with and influence a variety of different internal and external stakeholders.
- A strategic mindset and the ability to translate strategic objectives into programme goals.
- Knowledge and confidence working with Microsoft Office and project software.
- Exemplary communication skills, with an ability to build strong, trusting and respectful relationships quickly at all levels.
- Strong team player who can work both independently and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills, and the ability to manage a varied workload.
- Evidence of training and developing others in the field of Project Management.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Programme Management
- Supervise the delivery of a programme of strategic change projects across the organisation, on time, within budget and to the agreed scope.
- Ensure roles and responsibilities are established for the programme and ensure all stakeholders are aware of the project management processes that they will participate in.
- Oversee the management of project risks, issues and changes and monitor project progress, ensuring stakeholders are updated and that everyone can meet their required deliverables within the project timescales.
- Act as the responsible project manager on projects within the programme when necessary.
- Maintain programme schedules and develop a reporting suite to help track and monitor progress.
- Produce regular progress reports for all stakeholders including the Executive Leadership Team and Trustees, escalating risks and issues where necessary.
- Lead project reviews to capture successes and learnings and ensure project outcomes are embedded into Business as Usual (BAU).
- Oversee the management of costs and budgets assigned to the programme.

Organisational Project Management Capability
- Support the Head of Strategy and Projects on the development of change capability and project management maturity.
- Support the development of new processes and guidance for the delivery of projects of different levels across the organisation.
- Encourage the adoption of project management processes and principles.
- Demonstrate best practice and share success stories.

Project Management Training and Development
- Support the Head of Strategy and Projects on the delivery of project management training across the organisation.
- Facilitate the sharing of learnings, best practice and encourage interest in the area of project management and change.

To strive for excellence, bringing external experiences and insight.
- To bring external experiences and insight through networking with other organisations (charity, not for profit and for profit) who are delivering successful transformation strategies, projects and portfolios.
- To continue to learn, bringing the latest knowledge and industry developments on strategy, transformation and project and programme management.
