**THE ROLE**

The Restaurant & Bar Supervisor is responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the Restaurant & Drawing Room Bar area at the Marcliffe hotel & Spa.

Reporting directly to the Restaurant & Bar Manager Manager and Assistant Manager, the the Restaurant & Bar Supervisor has a hands-on approach and leads from the front. Having supervisory responsibility for the Restaurant & Bar team - supporting the recruitment, training and development of employees is fundamental to the success of the team and overall business. Collaborating with operational teams to create the perfect ambiance and exceptional service to ensure the guests have a special and memorable experience.

**Responsibilities**
- Creating a warm and welcoming environment for guests.
- Assist Managers with the creation of weekly staff rotas to ensure the bar is fully staffed, particularly during peak times while manning costs.
- Monitoring inventory of beverages to ensure adequate stock.
- Ensuring consistent, high-quality food and beverages are served to guests.
- Dealing with guests feedback and providing adequate solutions to any complaints.
- Creating a positive work environment for staff and encourage opportunities for knowledge sharing and learning.
- Overseeing the cleanliness of staff and the food and bar serving areas and paying attention to possible health hazards and regulation violations.
- Ensuring highest levels of security of stock - keeping storage cupboards and fridges under lock and key.
- Promote a positive people culture through effective communication and regular team meetings.
- Ensuring adherence to all current legislation including but not limited to Health & Safety, Food Safety, Licencing and Legislation.
- Assist with recruitment & retention of the Restaurant and Bar teams.
- Engage in and support staff onboarding and ongoing training initiatives and sessions.
- Continually seek, identify and make suggestions for business improvements.
- Ensure the highest standards are maintained throughout the hotel and that guest’s expectations are exceeded.

**Knowledge & Experience**
- Previous experience in a similar role within a 4 or 5 star Hotel or fine dinning establishment is essential.
- Strong knowledge of food production, food safety.
- Excellent knowledge and experience of bartending techniques and familiarity with a variety of alcoholic beverages including craft cocktails
- Fine dinning and silver service experienced.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and supervise a team effectively.
- Proven track record in achieving sales targets and driving business growth
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Professional in demeanour and presentation.

**Salary & Benefits**
