OurDevon highways team are looking to recruit apprentice highways maintenanceoperatives to work from our Okehampton depot.

Thisexcellent opportunity is the chance to be working for an organisation leadingthe way in reducing carbon emissions, driving a circular economy approach, andincreasing biodiversity. Constantly evolving and meeting the ambitions of its clients across theUK. Milestone are also leading on the world’s first carbon negative highwaysinfrastructure project.

Thisapprenticeship is an 18-month program, that will develop your practical,technical and soft-skills with Health & Safety at the heart of everythingyou do. On successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will gain aHighways Maintenance Skilled Operative Level 2 qualification, a permanent opportunity,and a long-term career.

**Whatwill the apprentice be doing?**
- Highways Maintenance(e.g. pothole repairs, grass cutting, winter gritting services)
- Providing trafficmanagement for a diversity of projects.
- Working as part of ourmulti-disciplined teams to deliver innovative solutions to highwaysmaintenance.

**Whattraining will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprenticeget at the end?**

Atthe end of your apprenticeship, you will be awarded a Level 2 HighwaysMaintenance Skilled Operative Apprenticeship

Dependingon your location you will be required to travel to college on block releasewith fellow apprentices and stay in a hotel for your relaxation time.

**Whatis the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?**

Asa Milestone Apprentice, you will be recruited on a permanent contract and aftercompleting your apprenticeship you will be promoted into the business. You willalso have further development opportunity through professional qualification ortraining courses.

**Qualifications**

GCSEor equivalent English & Maths (Grade Grades A* to C or 9 to 4) Essential
