**About our Client**

We are working with one of the top 5 leading retailers in the UK, as they look to strengthen the technical department with the appointment of a horticultural technical specialist.

**About the Role**

This fantastic new position is ideal for someone wanting to take ownership of your category and build great relationships with the supply base. You will have the ability to manage the supplier approval process, audit suppliers, manage quality standards and communicate within the business. Take ownership and lead projects within your category. Partner with Buyers on developing sourcing strategy and supply base, also understanding next deliveries based on season and weather impact. Manage difficult seasons or periods without compromising product safety or quality

For this role you will be currently be working or have worked in a Technical position within a horticultural business, you will have a good working knowledge of retailer standards, the ability to audit suppliers, communicate quality issues from end-to-end supply, and knowledge of pests and diseases within plants. You will have excellent communication skills across the board and have a flexible approach to work.
