**Job description**

As a Packaging Technologist Internship, this R&D-focused role will focus on supporting our efforts to rapidly test, validate and iterate on our packaging solutions as per the requirements of clients or the market.

This will involve working in our laboratory/workshop area to test the thermal performance of our packaging solutions as well as test the various configurations possible as part of a product development process. This role will also involve the theoretical design and implementation of future packaging solutions driven by the results obtained during testing.

As well as working in our laboratory, there is an exciting opportunity to support Aeropowder during an industrial production run with our manufacturing partners, providing quality assurance reports on packaging units as they are produced or support in the design of process improvements.

In addition, we aim to support you by providing professional mentorship as part of your internship.

**Responsibilities**
- Running thermal packaging temperature assurance tests, involving assembling packaging solutions with test materials and sensors.
- Operating and programming test equipment (i.e climatic chamber). Data acquisition and analysis.
- Manual construction of protype units.
- Project management, including scheduling of experiments and component preparation
- Assist in product development and design of our feather-based products, including working closely with our manufacturing team, customers and industrial partners
- Researching the wider thermal packaging market and competitive solutions to increase our own internal capabilities.

**About you**
- STEM Background, including practical experience in laboratories/workshops.
- Experience with packaging and/or product development a bonus.
- Start-up experience a bonus.
- Willingness to learn broad range of new techniques and disciplines.
- High level of self-motivation and autonomy, allowing for independent work.
- Able to set up and run a laboratory workspace, including the establishment of experimental protocols and record keeping.
- Knowledge of health and safety best practises.
- Clear communication skills (both verbally and in written text) and report writing.
- Flexibility in work planning and organisations, allowing for multiple parallel work streams.
- Ability to utilise remote working tools, including video conferencing and project management software.

**Compensation** - London Living Wage (£13.15 p/h)
